Hi, I'm Dawn.
I’ve been holding space for women and families for over 30 years as a clinical social worker, a mother of three, a Reiki Master, and an interfaith minister. My work is rooted in the belief that we all deserve places where we feel safe, supported, and truly seen for who we are.
My Story
For more than 13 years, I’ve led support groups for new and expecting mothers, helping them navigate the emotional and practical transitions of parenthood with honesty, connection, and plenty of laughter along the way. My work is deeply informed by matrescence, the complex and evolving identity shift that happens when you become a mother. It’s one of the biggest transitions a person can go through, and having space to talk about it, be heard, and find joy in the mess matters.

At Gather Well, I create warm, welcoming spaces where real-life challenges can be shared, taboos can be unpacked, and deep friendships can form. There’s no judgment, no pressure to perform, just honest conversation, shared experience, and a reminder that you’re not doing this alone. Many women return with their second or third child, and countless friendships continue long after the final session. That’s the power of community, which is at the heart of Gather Well.

In addition to groups for parents, I love creating spaces for personal growth and connection that welcome all, whether or not parenting is part of their path. I lead monthly women’s circles, co-facilitate a monthly Reset & Renewal workshop with a yoga instructor combining Reiki and gentle yoga, and invite guest facilitators to share practices that support emotional well-being and transformation. My own growth and healing are woven into this work, and I bring that same spirit of openness and care to every gathering I lead. This is my calling, and it’s an honor to walk alongside you in whatever season of becoming you are in.

Dawn Ellis, LICSW is a licensed clinical social worker with over 30 years of experience supporting women and families through life’s most meaningful transitions. As the founder of Gather Well, Dawn specializes in creating nurturing, judgment-free spaces where people can show up fully as themselves, welcomed in both their joys and their struggles.
For more than 13 years, Dawn has facilitated support groups for pregnancy and early parenting, with her work deeply informed by the concept of matrescence, the profound physical, emotional, and spiritual transformation that accompanies becoming a mother. A Reiki Master and ordained interfaith minister, Dawn’s own spiritual growth is at the heart of her work, informing her ability to hold space with deep presence, compassion, and acceptance for whatever season of life someone is in.

Known for her warmth, gentle humor, and ability to foster genuine connection, Dawn creates gatherings that offer real-life support, honest conversations, and lasting community. In addition to her signature support groups, she hosts seasonal women’s circles, community workshops, and one-on-one Reiki sessions at her studio in Newton, Massachusetts.
